INCORPORATING SOCIAL MEDIA INTO YOUR BUSINESS

START WITH A STRATEGY: it’s the kind of business you are into that will determine what social media platform(S) you will use.

Define how social media serves your business. E.g. Airlines focuses on twitter for customer service, food trucks are using it for delivery by tweeting locations. Interior decorators can use Instagram to post pictures and videos of their designs. So choose wisely.

SPECIFIC TARGETS AND TACTICS

What accounts to follow: depending on the nature/niche of business, just search for those doing something or something similar follow them so you can keep to date with latest technique and method and to keep an eye on your competitor. This must come after you’ve chosen one or more platforms.

WHAT CONTENT TO POST OR REPOST: post contents that are fun, engaging and that talks or of relevance to your business. This is where your creativity comes in.

Repost images or contents that are going viral in your niche or that about what you do and tags you.  Whatever content you are reposting, use call to action content E.G., let’s say am an interior decorator, after a specific work, I will post the picture and caption it like, “hmm… best things about Saturdays’ are owanbe…what about you” or “what’s your favourite event on Saturday”. This will allow your followers to interact with your post which will increase your engagements.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR: watch out for those who tag you in a post or repost your contents like your products or talked about your services.

This will let you connect with those people through which you can build friendship, reach out to them for collaborations or send them your products, they just might be interested in buying.

After you’ve done all these, post consistently.

CONCLUSIONS

What drives sales and awareness on social media is called engagement. Engagement means the number of pages that liked or comment on your post.

You can safely say they are mostly interested in what you have to offer.

Use analytics tools available on social media platform. Post high quality and post valuable information consistently. Make sure to reply and engage with your followers, appreciate their review.

Lastly do social media ADS (advertisement) to increase your page reach.
